Exercise #8

Exercise #8 Research project - Volunteers in Education

Have a look at this page on the internet: http://www.worldvolunteerweb.org/browse/sectors/education.html

This page has some ideas about how people can volunteer through education projects.

Once you have read through the pages, you need to work in groups of 4 or 5.
In your groups, come up with a project which you think can be advanced through an educational setting. There are no restrictions, but your idea should be innovative and should aim at adding real value to the people you are trying to help.

As you are working through your project, one of you should be putting together a short presentation (Powerpoint, etc) to explain to the rest of the group what you are trying to achieve.

You should aim to cover the following points, at least.

1.                   What are the aims of the project?
1, eradicate extreme poverty and hunger.
 2, achieve universal primary education.
3, puts a woman and a man on the same level.
 4, reduce child mortality.
5, is a poignant reminder that every minute a woman dies due to complications of pregnancy or childbirth.
6, combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases.
7, is a call to action to ensure environmental sustainability.
8, of global partnerships for development is signified by distant balloons.
2.                   Who are the target audience, and why?
All ages are involved in this project program but they focus on the children's.
3.                   What activities would your project involve?
Provide jobs to people in kosovo and shelter ,and build schools and provide free food for the kosovian people.
4.                   Who would be volunteering? Why?
the expert people for example teachers ,engineers and volunteers..etc all this expert peopl have already skills to serve the kosovian unlike the people don't have.
5.                   What are the benefits your project could bring to the target audience?
Actually the benefit will be for most of people because they will be satisfied about the additional help for them also for their children, which will achieve a great and balanced future for them.
6.                   How would you look into launching your project with reference to the relevant authorities in the UAE and in the country you have targeted?
That can be achieved in Schools, Sport clubs,  , and other authorities in our country which can spend effort for helping people; or in any other county like in the case that we have which is about Kosovo.
7.                   What problems do you think you might come across and how would you try to get around them?
We may have problems with the money to buy the equipment for sick people and some stuff for the children and also maybe we have a problem with place for the volunteers and we can solve that if some important people helped us.

You should aim at one or two of your group making a 4-6 minute presentation to the rest of the group explaining your findings.

2-    Does every human being have the capability of reaching that level?
·        Actually that is impossible, you cannot imagine life with the same level of comfort, there should be poor people to work in some kind of jobs like agriculture, shavings and others while there should be ruler, this is how life goes, but (the rights for all).

3-    What are the opportunities are needed to get to the higher level?

·         That’s depending to the civilized and cooperative culture, good government and other factors.

4-    What are the obstacles could stand in the way of reaching these levels?
·        Irresponsibility is the basic reason; there are a lot of people who are languid in doing their responsibility.

5-    What could you do to help others to reach the higher levels?

·        By supporting them materially (financially) and morally (peaceful and others) and culturally (Education, media, others) for reaching to the higher levels.
